Complaints and feedback

SODEC believes that feedback and complaints from citizens are important because they can help improve its services.

While each SODEC employee is accountable for meeting the commitments outlined in the declaration of services to the public*, any complaints or comments regarding customer service can be sent in writing to the Secrétariat à la qualité des services at qualite-service@sodec.gouv.qc.ca.

* Available in French only.

French Language

All ministries and government agencies, including SODEC, are subject to the Charte de la langue française (Charter of the French Language), its regulations, and to the Politique linguistique de l’État (Quebec Language Policy). As such, SODEC professionals must use French in an exemplary manner, promote its quality, ensure its presence in Quebec, as well as its protection.

Therefore, SODEC must also comply with the Directive relative à l’utilisation d’une autre langue que la langue officielle (Directive on the Use of a Language Other than the Official Language), that came into effect on May 29, 2025.

This directive stipulates that SODEC may, by way of exception, use a language other than French in the course of its activities but only in the situations and under the conditions outlined in the Directive.

If you believe that an exception may apply to your case, please contact us to inform us. However, if no exception applies to your situation, our staff will only communicate with you in French.
